He who waits is lost. Let Simon Malls know they can't bully us around
We will be having our next meeting Thursday 01/31/08, 7:00 PM at the South Huntington Library, downstairs in the meeting rooms. We will make a plan for the next Town of Huntington meeting which is 02/05/08 at 7PM at Town Hall. Now is the time to be heard.

http://town.huntington.ny.us There is a direct link to the e-mail addresses of all of the council members. There is also a direct link to the e-mail addresses to the members of the planning board. It's easy to write an e-mail. Please remember that these are the people making the decisions about the mall expansion AND Lowes. Two major projects around the corner from each other that have a direct impact on our quality of life.
Let us not allow Simon Malls and Lowes to rule our community. We must all be united against this overdevelopment of our town. Let's all meet on Jan. 31, 7PM at our South Huntington Library.
I don't get the relationship of Lowes and the expansion of the mall. These are two very different projects.
If not Lowes, what do people want on this 20 acre piece of prime real estate on Jericho Tnpk? Clearly something will be built on this site in the future. I don't see the possibility of 1) Hotel and conference center, 2) Town house/ condo community, or 3) other disaster possibilites such as a multiplex cinemia being any better for the community.
The lot is a big eyesore and I look forward to the day Lowes starts building!
As for the mall expansion- simply NO NEED FOR IT- bad for the community!
